Finding Your Life’s Purpose

8eb1759cb1185cb5a5ce21e8274c24b6On Day 6: The space to write, I have included a contact form at the end and gave an opportunity to each of my readers to write on what topics they want to know more about. The topic that I have chosen was finding your life’s purpose for it is in line with my blog theme.

So here goes:

Finding your life’s purpose is a lifelong journey but God’s general purpose for everyone is to know His Son, Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal Savior. My previous post, entitled, “Are You Saved” , gives an explanation on how to do this and I recommend you to read it if your salvation is not yet secure. Knowing Jesus, accepting Him and growing to be like Him is the general purpose of God for everyone for this was his very reason why he came to earth and died on the cross for us.

Second, once you have already secured your salvation, you automatically become God’s child and His Holy Spirit has been sealed on you until the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit is our seal of guarantee that cannot be revoked or removed no matter what sin you have committed in the past, present and future. This is your assurance that you will go to heaven once you die or taken in rapture.

Next, you have a specific assignment which the Lord has endowed you in the form of gifts, talents and abilities. And if you want to find out what your spiritual gifts are, click here. This assignment is made specially for you that only you can do best and no one else. For this purpose, the Lord has already created the road, paved the way and all you have to do is follow the path. This is the race that you have to run and finish well. This specific purpose is not for your own gain alone but for the building up of the church body which are composed of God’s children. I would like to liken this to our human body which are composed of billions of cells, tissues and organs that have a specific purpose. No matter how small or big your task is, it is all needed to make the body function at its optimum performance. With that said, no cell or atom is insignificant for they have a purpose and one cannot function without the other. The same is true with your purpose. If do not fulfill it, the church is in lack for something significant that only you can do. This is better said than done because the Lord doesn’t give us a clear pathway or gives us everything at one time. This is something that you have to find out for yourself with the help of the Holy Spirit and being obedient and faithful to His promptings.

This is a lifelong journey and the way to find it, is to read the Bible everyday, meditate on it, speak to God in prayer and learn to listen to what He says in your spirit and in His Word. Whenever you make a decision, always ask for the Lords’ guidance before you make a step. Our lives – be it personal, secular, or spiritual are not separate entities and they all need to revolve around God and not the other way around. We should fashion all our activities around God and make Him our first priority always each and every day.

We don’t always follow the right path, and when this happens, don’t be discouraged for we have the Holy Spirit who is our Helper and Guide who will always speak to us and bring us back to the right way again.

Finding and fulfilling our purpose will not be done instantaneously because God will have to work on our bad attitudes, habits and the condition of our hearts first. We are likened to vessels where God is our Master crafter who will take out all the lumps, impurities and subject it to fire to make it a perfect vessel. So don’t be afraid if you encounter hardships and difficulties for God has a purpose for everything. Just ask what He wants you to learn and become for I can assure you that you will come out better than before.

This is it and I hope I’ve given you good information regarding your life’s purpose.

Day One: Set Three Goals

1817faf141df4fffa6e81ca6081be789The purpose of this blog came about to fulfill my life’s purpose which is to share the Lord’s Gospel to a lost and hurting world. I may not reach the whole word but at least I’ll be doing my part in my own space through the blogosphere.

My blog is to reflect Jesus Christ mostly in my writings so I can share the joy in my life and the hope that is not tied down to material wealth but is anchored in a stable and immovable entity which is found in Christ alone. My blog’s ultimate goal is saving the spiritually lost and helping my readers come to the realization that only Christ can save them and the Bible is the ultimate guidebook for successful Christian living.

So here’s a list of my three goals:

  1. To increase readership and followers during the life of this blog and to post every week or every 2 weeks.
  2. To have a change of perspective in my readers that is sifted in God’s Word alone.
  3. To create a lasting friendship with my readers and followers and help each other out along the way.
